The marketing system provides a new Campaigns user interface, in addition to the legacy campaign system, for managing campaigns and discounts.

Use Episerver's Marketing system to create discountCommerce: A deduction applied to an online purchase, typically implemented as part of a marketing campaign. The discount might apply to items, shipping costs, total order amount and so on. and promotionCommerce: A way to apply a discount to products, order totals, or shipping; a marketing tool used to increase sales of certain products or product lines. A promotion is associated with a campaign. In recent Commerce versions, this term is replaced by "discount." that can be applied to productCommerce: various forms of merchandise that you can display and purchase from the public site, including products, variations/SKUs, bundles, packages and dynamic packages., orders, or shipping. Typically, promotions are created and managed by marketing and catalogCommerce: a top-level container for catalog entries such as categories, products, and variants (SKUs). managers, and other users who handle pricing and discounts.

The marketing features allow you to create campaignsCommerce: a set of related components and activities used for promotions. A campaign organizes marketing activity and is associated with discounts (promotions), customer segments, and markets. with unique and compelling discounts. Discounts are typically based on a percentage or fixed value. You can target discounts to specific customers, time periods, or markets.

Common marketing tasks are listed below. Available tasks depend on whether you are using the new Marketing system, or the legacy marketing system.

Marketing system in Commerce ManagerOne of several main user interfaces in Epi Commerce. This UI area, available from the top menu after logging in, provides screens for managing markets, customers, catalog, orders, and so on. You can manage the information on some Commerce Manager screens in other, newer user interfaces. Where possible, we recommend using the newer ones. (Legacy)

  • Creating and managing campaigns, which can be targeted to specific groups of users.
  • Configuring customer segments, for targeting of promotions to specific groups of users and customers.
  • Creating different types of promotions with discounts and coupons.
  • Configuring expressions and policies for defining additional rules and promotion types.
