Creating a Standard Information Page in Edit Mode
Depending on how your website is designed and the page types and templates that are available, the information pages may look different. Below is a description of how to create a simple page using the page type Standard page in a standard installation. You can also create a page on right-click as described in "Edit Using the Right Mouse Button".
The Standard page has several tabs, where the main information is entered under the Content tab. The other tabs contain additional more advanced functions.
Create a standard page in Edit mode as follows:
- Select the page in the tree structure where you want the new page. The new page will be created under the page you have selected.
- Select New Page from the toolbar.
- Select the template Standard page.
- In Name , type the name for the page. Do not leave Name blank, since it is the name that the page will have in the tree structure and in the menu.
- In Heading, you can type a name of the heading if you want it different from the name of the page.
- The Main and Secondary body sections are editable areas in which you write the information you want to convey. You can format the text here, load images, create links and work with tables. The text in Main body will be displayed in the middle of the page and the text in Secondary body will be shown in the right column of the page, just like the layout of this template.
- Save and preview the page by selecting Save and View.
- When you have previewed the page, you can continue to work with it by selecting Edit again.
- When you are done, click Save and Publish to make the page accessible to visitors and appear in the menus. Or, submit the page for approval by clicking Ready to Publish.
