Setting up wishlists

InsiteCommerce allows users to create and save wishlists (also commonly referred to as Purchase Lists). This functionality simplifies, where necessary, the task of repeatedly ordering the same set of products or simply creating a list of products that a user would potentially like to purchase in the future. Wishlists can be tied to a single user or shared by multiple users who are tied to the same Customer (Bill To).

For a shopper to create multiple Wishlists, the AllowMultipleWishlists Website Setting must be set to true:

To allow for shared wishlists, the Wishlists_byCustomer Website Setting must be set to true.

For a shopper to create multiple Wishlists, the Allow Multiple Wishlists Setting must be set to YES. If Yes, the website will prompt the Customer to choose an existing wishlist or create a new one. The View Wishlists page will have a drop-down menu to select the wishlist. The default value is set to Yes.

To allow for shared wishlists, the Wishlists by Customer Setting must be set to YES, which then makes wishlists attached to the Customer Bill To, rather than to the individual User. The default value is set to No.

Updating the website settings

Website settings are controlled uniquely on each individual website. Use the steps below to update the settings:

  1. Go to Admin Console > Websites.
  2. Click Edit for the desired website
  3. Click the Settings finger tab.
  4. Using the Search box, filter for the desired Website Setting.
  5. Click Edit for the selected Website Setting.
  6. Edit the Value field.

Updating the settings

  1. Go to Admin Console > Administration > System > Settings.
  2. Type wishlist into the Search box and select either Allow Multiple Wishlists or Wishlists by Customer - clickinge, brings you to both settings, as they are grouped together.
  3. Update the settings as desired.
