Setting up the B2B Commerce mobile app
The Optimizely B2B Commerce Mobile App must be enabled via the Admin Console before it can be used on a mobile device.
A valid B2B Commerce license, that includes the mobile app, is required in order to adjust the setting.
Enable the Mobile App on a Website
- Go to Admin Console > Administration > System > Settings.
- Search for "Enable Mobile App".
- Change the toggle to display YES. The default is NO.
- Click Save.
If Multiple Websites Exist
In a situation where multiple websites exist, it is possible to have each website have their own Mobile App. If this is desired, contact your Optimizely Customer Strategy Director, as each website requires its own Mobile App instance.
If you've already completed the necessary work to procure additional Mobile Apps, you can use the following steps to enable the Mobile App for each website:
- First, decide which websites can be accessed via a Mobile App.
- If all websites should be made available via a Mobile App, then select Global Defaults from the Configuring menu and update the setting stated above.
- If only specific websites should be made accessible, then select each website and follow the steps stated above for each website.
When Global Defaults is selected and you are viewing the Enable Mobile App setting, If this icon is displayed, double check that all websites are set up as desired. The icon is only displayed if a particular website setting may not be inheriting from the Global Defaults.
Adjust Catalog and Checkout Settings
- Go to Admin Console > Administration > System > Settings.
- Select the Mobile App finger tab.
- Click Select Category if you want to designate a Starting Category for Browsing. Users on the mobile app will first see the child categories of the selected category when browsing categories. Default value: Empty.
- Verify you want the Has Checkout setting to be YES. If false, the cart screen and checkout functionality will be hidden in the mobile app. Default value: Yes.
- Change the Override Checkout Navigation setting to YES if you want to enter a Checkout URL to navigate the user in the mobile app to the browser experience when they tap the checkout button in the app. Default value: No.
- Click Save.
Update the Mobile App Styling and URLs
After enabling the Mobile App, the primary color, privacy policy, and terms of use need to be set.
- Upon selecting Save, a new menu item titled Mobile App will appear in the primary left-hand navigation, directly above Administration.
- Select Mobile App from the main navigation menu.
- The Mobile App page displays all websites where the Mobile App has been enabled.
- Click Edit for the desired website.
- Within the Details fingertab, enter the hex code for the primary color to be displayed throughout the app.
- As desired, enter the URLs for the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
